Irithyll Dungeon

Head down the darkened stairs from the Distant Manor Bonfire to enter a large open expanse with a staircase leading down where ii slaves will mysteriously brainstorm moving downward the stairs. Don't give chase, because hiding to the left of the plough in the stairs is a Pontiff Knight waiting to strike. Be quick in taking him out, as the slaves volition double back with a Fire Witch in tow. After they've been dealt with, caput to the lesser of the stairs and take a right to find two other slaves hiding below an awning, guarding a body holding a Large Titanite Shard. Before leaving, head back up the stairs to the first landing and driblet off the side to get a Rusted Aureate Coin.

Exterior, be wary as you cross the bridge leading to the dungeon, equally at that place'due south a practiced chance you'll all of a sudden be invaded by an enemy NPC - Alva, Seeker of the Spurned. This enemy wields a giant curved sword and a crossbow - and so be wary of his spinning weapon arts that can deal a lot of damage when washed in two easily. Defeating this spirit will get you the blade, Murakumo.

At present enter the dungeon proper to detect your kickoff Blaze, and a locked door on the right. Locked doors will become a theme, but don't worry, nosotros'll be finding every last central and returning to the doors either on this page or as part of the Profaned Capital backtracking. Keep down the path to a long corridor lined with cells. The left cells comprise a Rusted Coin (conscientious, the neighbors don't like stealing), and a door you tin open up to get a Big Titanite Shard. The right cells contain a Hollow zombie, and a locked door. At the far end you might be able to make out the smouldering iron held by a Torturer. These enemies tin be an farthermost pain to bargain with - not only do they constantly spew cursed gas close to themselves, but if they plough their lantern red, you lot'll immediately outset to lose your maximum health! Not but does this lower your wellness, but it makes healing incommunicable until they turn the calorie-free off or yous impale them, and you'll take to heal your wellness dorsum. Kill them quickly - or risk being in a world of pain. They'll effort to follow up disabling you by striking you slowly with their irons, which will irksome you down making yous vulnerable as they try and follow upwards by burning you into the ground - and it won't take much to kill you lot with such depression health.

Heading right out the door, at that place's a Fading Soul on a ledge with a zombie ready to pounce on you from his cell on the right. Further upwards you can spy some other zombie in his airtight cell, and another Torturer patrolling a small span. Wait for the enemy to return to the other side, because another Tortuter is waiting just around the corner at the span entrance, and you lot really don't want to tangle with two at a time. Charge the enemy quickly, and brace yourself for three zombies in the cell on the right to come try and ambush you. From here, yous tin either rush the span to take out the last Torturer, and explore the other side - or continue on the right side of the dungeon, up towards a expressionless end with a Large Titanite Shard, and a locked window that tin exist opened with the Jailbreaker'south Key - and a path on the right leading down some stairs to a Torturer with many Greater Corpse Piles. These cages, much similar the ones in the Undead Settlement, alloy correct into the environment, but can deal a lot of damage and are heavily armored, and may even toss damaging muck at you lot. There's a cell here with an item inside, but it's locked on both sides, then head out and turn right to find the Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier guarded by a zombie who will spew maggots from its corpse.

The long corridor leads to an open jail cell full of maggot zombies guarding a full Old Sorcerer Set, including an Old Wizard Hat, Onetime Sorcerer Coat, Old Sorcerer Gauntlets, and Old Sorcerer Boots. The cell at the far end contains a large Maggot Beast, so if y'all accept some Bloodred Moss Clumps handy, open up the prison cell and kill it to get a Not bad Magic Shield sorcery.

Now return to the span above and cantankerous to the other side, where a locked door prevents you from going further, and another Torturer waits at a expressionless stop, with several Zombies waiting to ambush you from their nearby cells, guarding a Big Titanite Shard. At that place is another way however, equally the other prison cell contains a broken down wall leading to 2Pale Pine Resin and…. A seriously deformed looking thing that might not assail you lot at start sight. Y'all tin open the far door here to get around to the other side of the previously locked door. This side, similar the other, leads downwards to a dead stop with a cell you can open containing the Jailbreaker'due south Key, and a path leading downwardly the stairs to 3 Torturers. Drop from above to kill the offset, then quickly assault the others before they drain all your wellness, and make sure yous don't go struck, since healing will be a moot indicate.

An open cell in this room leads to another ane of those malformed but decidedly less docile creatures. This abomination will lunge effectually with a magical shiv, but can exist hands sidestepped and punished. Grab the Uncomplicated Gem it was guarding and head out to the corridor. A locked door lies on your right, and a Crystal Lizard on your left. Things are rarely that uncomplicated, every bit chasing it downwardly will bring you past another anathema who will lunge out of its jail cell with a spear. Kill the cadger to get its Titanite Scale, so finish off the anathema, and his friend in the side by side closed cell.

The door here leads out of the prison, and down onto a crumbling walkway where you tin can spot 2 Homeward Os on a ledge. If you look up to the right, you can see where the locked window leads using the Jailbreaker's Key. This rocky area has a Bellowing Dragoncrest Band, and lets you drop down on the Jail Worker waiting to ambush y'all in front of his two friends, ane holding a crossbow that will inflict bleeding damage.

In the room beyond, note the slightly breathing chest, and impale the Mimic to get an Estus Shard. The next room will be patrolled by a host of Jail Workers, some with cleavers, two with hammers, and 2 wielding crossbows at the back. Pull in the melee ones to the previous room, before charging the archers, and making a right to kill another worker by a corpse holding a Soul of a Weary Warrior. There are several open cells in these corridors, that all drib into pits, and if yous didn't hear the ho-hum rumbling, you tin can just make out the body of a giant down i of the pits, and so perhaps it'south best to expect earlier you leap.

At the plough, there'southward a ladder heading downwards to a door leading to the Behemothic'due south prison. Like the Cathedral of the Deep, you'll be on a ledge within attain of the slumbering behemothic, but it's not the best signal of set on because his reach. Note the awning to a higher place him to meet an item that we tin can't reach notwithstanding, but we'll exist back later for it and most of this room when backtracking in the Profaned Capital. He's blocking ane path to the right, simply at that place is another to the left on a ledge. Return up the ladder and look for a open pit reverse where the soul y'all collected was to autumn downward onto a shortcut to an open sewer grate where a corpse lies holding a Pickaxe. The bridge here leads back to the Giant'due south face up, where a Crystal Cadger is hiding - merely again, allow'due south relieve that for afterward, and instead enter the sewer and offset killing rats.

Every bit you head deeper into the sewers, a few rats will come up out of a hole on the right. Ignore the opening they came through for the moment. If you continue heading up the sewer, you'll find a corpse holding a Soul of a Weary Warrior, and ii chests up ahead, along with the familiar husky of Basilisks above. One of the chests is a crouching Mimic, who will spit acrid and lunge to grab and chomp on you while running on 4 legs. Kill it to get a Dark Clutch Band, and open the other chest to find an Old Cell Key. As you do and so, iv Basilisks will driblet downwardly from a hole in the ceiling farther dorsum. Yous tin can play it reckless and try and engage them or just dart out of the way and effort to take them on one at a time, or not at all.

Now it is fourth dimension to explore the rat cave. Keep in and meet where they came from to find a bedroom with non ane but ii Giant Rats. Lure them back into the tunnel to take them on, then return to catch 4Dung Pie from a corpse, and open a gate leading to the bottom of the prison house, which just happens to be full of Torturers - hooray! At that place are several groups of two or 3 that patrol the area in a large procession. If you were feeling the need for a shortcut at about this point, y'all're in luck. Quietly duck off to the left and upward some stairs to come out to a gorgeous plateau overlooking the afar ruins, where several corpses are laid out - with a strange looking skeleton between them holding the Dragon Torso Stone. This is an important location used to accomplish an optional area subsequently in the game - and so have a notation of where it is. The path leads to an elevator - but note the body hanging out of an upper window. As the elevator ascends, jump off to take hold of a Lightning Blade miracle.

At the acme, take the Big Soul of a Nameless Soldier off a nearby corpse earlier opening the door leading to the upper areas of the dungeon. At present y'all can render down with an piece of cake shortcut should you perish to the loads of Jailers downwardly below. If you'd rather avoid them, quietly duck into the darkened room on the left to face up several wretched prisoners lurking in the dark. Grab the Profaned Coal in the corner before opening the gate back into the large room. You have 2 choices, either slip quietly into a corridor on the left where a chest - I mean Mimic - is hiding that you can kill for 2 Titanite Scale, or advisedly try and appoint the Jailers. With the room behind you now cleared, you lot can try getting the attention of a few of them, and endeavour and make them chase you into the empty room where you tin can kill them - merely don't get mobbed, and watch your failing health. If you manage to impale them all, be sure to take hold of the Large Titanite Shard nearly where you beginning entered, and a full Alva Attack the right behind some urns, which contains an Alva Captain, Alva Armor, Alva Gauntlets, and Alva Leggings. Well-nigh the center of the room is an Ember, with another Ember below a corridor where 1 last Jailer is waiting.

Note that the Alva Set may non appear if you didn't get invaded - and defeat - Alva, Seeker of the Spurned, as y'all reached the entrance to the dungeon.

Past the Mimic you can make a break for the get out to the dungeon - but if you killed the Jailers then there's more to explore here. To the left of the Mimic is an empty cell containing two corpses, one holding Xanthous Ashes, the other a Dusk Crown Ring - and surprise. Opposite this prison cell is a lonely crimson-eyed Crucified Ghoul, who will exist all besides happy to run across you and volition effort and chomp on you if you let information technology. Heading along the raised corridor from this cell is another jail cell that'southward locked, just there's someone in there! Sadly we don't accept the right key nonetheless - so continue on outside the dungeon, and into the Profaned Capital.
